Jenny Berglund is senior lecturer and researcher. She is particularly interested in Islam and religious education. Her dissertation, Teaching Islam, Islamic Religious Education at Muslim Schools in Sweden has been published at Waxmann Verlag. Her research actualises the question of the confessional teaching of religion in a multi-cultural society, and spans the divide between the research fields of religious education and the history of religion. She is currently working on a project where she studies religious education in four border areas in Europe. She has edited several books in Swedish (Religiösa friskolor i Sverige [Religious schools in Sweden], Ramadan-en svensk tradition [Ramadan-a Swedish tradition], Hunden i kult och religion [Dogs in religion and cult] and Barn i religionernas värld [Children in the world of religions]. In her teaching, she focuses on Islam and Muslims in Sweden, as well as on the teaching of religious education.
